The Roost in Shamrock

Great small town Cafe with good ole down home cookin. I had their Texas burger and I give it 5 stars as well. It is so nice to eat in a place where they use fresh ingredients not canned or pickled. The fresh grilled jalepenos and purple onions made my day. I will definitely be back on .y next trip through Shamrock, TX

Fun little place to eat lunch. Building does not look like much from the outside. But it is very nice and clean inside. Very friendly staff. Will go back if I am ever in the area again!

The Roost has the best fish tacos I've ever had, very friendly, good old fashioned southern hospitality, great sweet tea, the atmosphere is awesome, furniture is amazing, and the service is truly unlike any other.

Awesome for from such a small place, we were suprised with the quality of food and service. The hostess was very kind and provided a lot of information for a route 66 trip further. She was also so kind to give 2 fish tacos on the house. Lovely people

Everyone got their food and were half done, then I got my cold soup. After reheating it, it was just warm.

We often travel from Oklahoma to New Mexico, always enjoy our break in Shamrock and lunch at The Roost. My wife enjoys the fresh salads and I, any meal on the menu as long as it has cornbread and beans. We had lunch at The Roost yesterday, great food and service as always, Thank you to the owners and staff.

Normally wouldn't associate a great restaurant in a small town, however The Roost is the exception to the rule. The food is fresh, tasty and well worth your stop there.

Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Food was very good just like eating at Grandma house. Stopped in on a business trip to Amarillo and was worth the trip.

When i first walked in, my senses were raging! The smell of pies and cakes and enchiladas opened up a deep part of my heart. The groovy classic music had my foot tapping and the staff's smiles were contagious.Food was hot and delicious. Really loved the homemade chips and fluffy cheesecake.

Awesome restaurant in our little town! Christy and her staff do an excellent job of turning out delishous and top quality food! If u r in the Shamrock area or driving down I40 , u have got to stop and try the fish tacos! Absolutely my favorite dish on the menu! And save room for dessert!

Don’t miss this little jewel in Shamrock. Food is healthy but so tasty...my special order Christmas cookies were delicious too...The Roost never disappoints! Love love love the homemade chicken strips and their pinto beans!

Went here because of the positive yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. Just a few minutes off of 40 and on historic route 66. Super friendly folks offering a healthier yet still tasty alternative to regular fast food.even my picky daughter liked her healthier chicken nuggets ;)

Fish Tacos are one of their specialties so I had to try. Excellent fresh taste with right amount of spice and cabbage slaw combined with a corn tortilla that was either super fresh or homemade. Little too much sauce on the slaw but I still loved them. Pinto beans were excellent - tasted like my mom's old fashioned pot of beans. Cornbread was a little crumbly, more like a sweeter corn muffin but worked well crumbled in the beans. Burger was also excellent. These ladies could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. I wish I lived closer - would eat there everyday.

Very good homemade chips and tomato soup and the sandwiches were good aswell

Great food, our waitress was fantastic and gave each of my kids a cookie which was so sweet! Only docked a star because the young lady at the register was really gruff/rude, I honestly am not sure if she even said a word to me and then shoved my to go bag of cookies in front of my face like she was annoyed that I purchased them on top of our meal. Awkward.

Traveling from KC and stopped in Shamrock, TX to try The Roost. We have heard lots of good things and read the reviews. The Roost delivered! Wonderful people and great food. The restaurant is very quaint, clean and inviting. My wife had the famous fish tacos and loved them. I had the Jack's Plate, beans, cornbread, hand cut fries, etc. Very tasty and took me back to my childhood. The best sweet tea I've had in a long time. Take the time to drive into Shamrock, TX, stop and sip some tea and eat some good food. Oh yeah... cowboy cookies... buy a dozen. Thank you Christy. You should be proud to own this restaurant.

Great, fresh, homemade food. The fish tacos are some of the best I've ever had. Chips and salsa are made to order and have great flavor. I will go back any and every time I'm in shamrock!If you are traveling through, stop here for sure
